Ayden, the second of four siblings, was born with a superpower. Trying to accommodate her 4 children as best she could, Lou, tried many playgrounds... but none of them were suitable for all children, no matter what their superpowers were. That's why she created the first inclusive & indoor playground in Belgium.
Ayden's World officially opened its doors in September 2020. It is a sensory playground, designed for each child to play and develop in a safe and caring way. It opens its doors to children and their carers for inclusive courses during the holidays, weekends, birthday parties, school outings, Sunday brunches and aperitifs with parents,...
Nestled in Uccle in the Brussels-Capital Region, Le Monde d'Ayden offers children from 0 to 12 years old a space entirely adapted and designed to meet their specific needs: a large slide, a space with giant building blocks, a car to drive, courses where you can drop small balls, a large swing, a psychomotricity space, a huge immersive screen where they can swim with dolphins, fly like a bird, etc. There is also a snoezelen area.
A Snoezelen is a multi-sensory space designed to give well-being to the person stimulated without directed practice. The approach is based on awakening to the outside world through the body and the five senses.
This also includes activities such as crafts, introduction to sign language, psychomotor courses, pastry/cake workshops, painting, drawing, sensory awareness, cooperative games, etc.
Pictograms and signs on the ground and at the entrances to the games will help explain and understand them, and trained or disabled staff (because inclusion is total, also at the level of employees) will be present at all times.
