Ever since her friend Zachary, who happens to be autistic, told her that his dream was to open a restaurant, Bianca has put herself in Zachary's shoes and wondered why it is so difficult for adults with learning disabilities to get and keep a job?
That day in the park was the trigger that led Bianca to fight professionally for the rights of Zach and his friends. Fighting for their rights is fighting for justice and prosperity for all.
93% of adults with learning disabilities in the UK are unemployed. To address this huge unemployment rate, Fairshot encourages adults with learning disabilities to gain skills they need during an 11-month traineeship as barista.
During their time at Fairshot, the trainees will learn the must-have practical and theoretical skills of a barista. This will enable them to find a job in the hospitality sector. Fairshot will accompany them within the 6 months after their traineeship with coaching in collaboration with several partners.
In a nutshell, Fairshot provides employment, changes perceptions and build communities.
Living in London or just here for the weekend, make sure you pass by Fairshot to enjoy a joyful coffee served with love.
